Seva Divali Dinner 2011

Seva celebrated Divali 2011 with a sober dinner and spiritual speeches on the 28th of October 2011. This year the Seva Divali Dinner took place for the sixth consecutive time, at the Seva office in The Hague.

A selected group of thirty persons was invited for the dinner, and during the evening there were three speakers who spoke to the diverse and interesting company of guests about spirituality, food, poverty and development cooperation.  In his welcoming speech Mr. Radj Bhondoe, director of Seva, reflected on the Hindu values as cooperation, non violence, pluralism and international brotherhood as the sources of inspiration for Seva. The other two speakers, Ms. Varishna Tewarie (banker) and Mr. Ram Ramsahai (education specialist) spoke from their professional perspectives and from their personal spiritual journey in life. The evening was closed with an interactive section headed by Mr. Ronald Lucardie of MCDO.

The annual Divali Dinner of Seva is an initiative to bring partners in the Netherlands together and combine forces against poverty. Divali is a day of reflection and as such an opportunity for solidarity with the millions of underprivileged people in the world.
