Once again I have decided to come to Nepal, the country where I was born and where I have lived the first ten years of my life. In the coming 1.5 months I will be doing fieldwork for my Master thesis, that focuses on the skilled birth attendants policy of Nepal and experiences of women and birth attendants with birth. Being a board member of Seva Network Foundation, I find it fascinating to visit a country that has always been included in the project lists of this organisation. Before, Seva funded projects in Nepal concerning clean drinking water, building training centre for an NGO and the prevention of girl trafficking. Since 2010, Seva has gone through a major change in which social entrepreneurship will play the main role, i.e. stimulating entrepreneurship in developing countries that will primarily benefit the people living there. Many opportunities lie ahead for the development of Nepal and I am happy that I will give my small contribution to it as well. I look forward to how this stay will treat me and I am very excited to learn and to contribute.
